Aikman House
In this project, we adopted the Dincel construction system for the entire house. As a practice, we remain open and innovative in exploring new building methodologies. The Dincel system allows for significantly faster construction without compromising quality, thanks to the inherent strengths of concrete as a structural material.
While we have tested Dincel in previous projects, this is the first time we have applied it comprehensively across the whole building structure, paired with concrete slab construction on all levels. To optimise the structural feasibility and cost efficiency, we ensured that the walls were vertically aligned, maximising the advantages of the Dincel system.
A contemporary aesthetic defines the design, featuring a monochrome façade composed of concrete and aluminium shrouds. Inside, we dramatically increased the ceiling height in the living area to enhance grandeur, brightness, and overall comfort, while also responding thoughtfully to the site’s natural downslope topography.
