Crown House

Conceived in a refined contemporary architectural language, Crown House presents a composition of clarity, restraint, and quiet confidence. A sculpted upper concrete volume gently cantilevers above the ground floor, its subtle tilt responding to the geometry of the street and the conditions of the site. This elevated form reads as both protective and composed – a solid, monolithic gesture that preserves privacy while shielding the interior from harsh western sunlight.

Beneath, the heaviness of concrete is carefully balanced by the warmth of charred timber. The yakisugi façade introduces a rich tactile layer, softening the architectural mass and bringing a sense of depth and human scale to the composition. The contrast between the two materials creates a dialogue between permanence and warmth, austerity and comfort.

Internally, the design continues this architectural language with a minimal yet moody atmosphere. Spaces are deliberately restrained, allowing light, shadow, and materiality to define the experience. Subtle curves are introduced to soften transitions and echo the external geometry, creating a cohesive relationship between exterior form and interior space. The result is a home that feels both composed and intimate, where architecture and interior design are seamlessly integrated into a singular, calm expression.
