Wang Architects is an emerging architectural practice based in Melbourne with a strong focus on design excellence. Our team comprises highly talented and experienced expertise that will drive efficiencies and monitor quality in both design and architectural documentation tailored to your needs. The Founders

KENNY WANG

Director / Victorian Registered Architect
M.Arch, University of Melbourne

Kenny founded Wang Architects in 2022. He has a wealth of experience in participating in and winning awards for multiple project typologies, including single dwellings, residential/ mixed-use high-rise buildings, shopping centres, education facilities and transport projects in Australia, along with multiple public projects and urban designs in China.

From childhood through his teenage years, Kenny immersed himself in the world of fine arts, with pencil sketching and gouache painting shaping his artistic development. This foundation instilled in him a deep appreciation for aesthetics and a meticulous approach to architectural design. He believes that design, much like art, should go beyond function to evoke emotion and atmosphere, whether it is warmth, grandeur, or tranquility.

Hand sketching remains an essential part of his creative process, allowing for a slower, more intentional exploration of ideas. In high-end residences, he tailors each design to reflect the client’s artistic sensibilities, making every project deeply personal and emotionally resonant.

ZIYI LIU

Principal / Victorian Registered Architect
B.Arch, M.Arch, University of Melbourne

Ziyi is a registered architect as well as an exceptionally intuitive interior designer. Her speciality lies in the residential, commercial and hospitality sectors. She is incredibly passionate about exploring how form, material, texture and details affect the user experiences and senses and how, as designers, we can influence such through design.

With great time management skills and an eye for detail, Ziyi catches her clients’ briefs and objectives precisely and makes sure the projects run smoothly and timely. Her experience in a range of high-end projects (up to $14M single residence) brings insight to our projects and challenges the norms of design.

Ziyi has been leading a core design studio at the University of Melbourne since 2018. With a strong connection with the university, she always felt energetic and inspired when working with students. It also provides opportunities for her to be exposed to industry news and technologies through networking.

Shabnam Bahraini

Senior Interior Designer

Shab is a highly conscientious and detail-oriented Senior Interior Designer with extensive experience across high-end residential, commercial, and multi-residential projects in Australia. She brings a deep spatial sensibility and a proven ability to lead projects seamlessly through all phases, from concept and design development to documentation, coordination, and construction.

Her work is guided by precision, creativity, and a holistic approach, crafting interiors that are both functional and inspiring. With an unwavering commitment to excellence, Shab creates world-class interior experiences through thoughtful design narratives, meticulous attention to detail, and innovative, efficient solutions.

Scott Kennedy

Project Leader

Scott is a highly skilled Project Lead with over 10 years of experience in residential projects. Holding master’s degrees in both Architecture and Urban Design, He brings strong expertise in construction codes, town planning, and landscape integration. With a keen eye for detail and a creative approach to problem-solving, he delivers thoughtful, high-quality design outcomes.

An enthusiastic and reliable team player, Scott is recognised for his excellent communication skills and ability to build productive relationships with clients, stakeholders, and builders. He combines strong time management with thorough follow-through, always prioritising design quality and taking great pride in his work.

Xinyu Li

Architectural Student

Xinyu is an Architectural Student at the University of Melbourne with a strong passion for architecture and design. She brings a fresh perspective and enthusiasm to the studio, contributing to research and project support.

Diligent and detail-oriented, Xinyu balances academic excellence with practical experience, assisting the team in delivering thoughtful and innovative design solutions. Her curiosity and commitment make her a valuable part of our collaborative design process.
